StazOn Ink is solvent-based and cannot normally be easily removed with soap and water. The ink is designed to remain permanently on the material. Tsukineko offers a special solvent-based cleaner for this purpose.
Important instructions for cleaning Clear Stamps (acrylic stamps):
You can use StazOn Ink with Clear Stamps, but the stamps will become permanently discolored - however, this will not affect the stamp quality or the stamp image.
DO NOT use StazOn Cleaner for Clear Stamps! This cleaner can attack the material of the acrylic stamps over time and make them brittle or even unusable.
The best way to clean Clear Stamps after use with StazOn is with mild soap and water or a gentle stamp cleaner that is suitable for acrylic stamps. Some of the ink will still remain, but this is only visual and does not affect the function.
For stubborn ink residue, you can dab the stamp several times with a damp cloth.
To summarize:
StazOn Ink can be used with Clear Stamps without any problems, but cleaning is more difficult and usually leads to discoloration. Never use StazOn Cleaner for Clear Stamps as it can damage the stamp material. It is better to use mild cleaning agents and accept slight discoloration - this is normal and does not affect the stamping result.
